Artistic roller skating is a performance based roller sport, focusing on the perfection of the techniques of roller skating, which are performed, in an artistic manner, for judges who score the performance based on predetermined values and requirements.
Artistic roller skating is a great sport for the entire family because there are so many different aspects to the multitude of differing styles within roller skating. The NRS offers artistic events for all ages and skill levels, allowing anyone the opportunity to perform any skating style that captivates them.
Erin is the lead director of the artistic program for the National Roller Sports Association. She has been involved in the competitive roller skating industry for almost 30 years, including representing Team USA ten times in international competition in three different disciplines, bringing home two silvers and one bronze. She is the artistic director, head coach, and club president of the Skate City Sports Artistic Skating Club, with club memberships reaching over 100 skaters, making it the largest artistic roller skating club in the country.
Erin attributes much of her success as a coach and building a thriving club to her mother’s mentorship, having a well rounded skating foundation, and implementing many of the concepts, tools and experiences she had while teaching ballroom dance with the Arthur Murray School of Dance.
